Day two second session highlights from Sunday
LAS VEGAS — Paul Casey has been in Las Vegas on a business trip, staying with friends and friends of friends.
He will return to the team in week two for the UFC 172 featherweight title fight against Daniel Cormier.
Cormier is on the second fight list for the welterweight title after the UFC released a video on Tuesday that showed Cormier’s second loss and revealed he wouldn’t return to the Octagon. Cormier had been on the UFC’s w룰렛elterweight list for nearly two years before the video was posted.

«We got a huge crowd,» Casey said in a recent interview, adding that his decision won’t impact the media coverage because of his involvement in the UFC.
In light of Cormier’s next opponent’s title status and the fact that fans will have a seat on both shows, Casey said a «good fight» will happen. But he wouldn’t discuss how he feels at the moment.
«I’m here to see if it’s possible, but I wouldn’t want to say, ‘Hey, the guy’s out of this title fight,’» Casey said. «We’ll see about whether he feels like fighting or not and how he feels and where he’s at in the process, we’ll see. The media has said, ‘Well, he lost his first title fight. That’s what happens in the division.’ But, at the end of the day, we all just want a fight, we’ve just got to see how it goes and he (Cormier) has to make the right choice.
«I think it’s going to be fun. I know (Cormier) is very competitive, very tough and he always fights to win. You don’t want to beat him on paper. As long as he continues to fight like that and continues to grow and fight like that, we’ll see what happens in the end. We’re all in this together and I think we’ll get a good fight from him.»
